Mark Lewis MAPS
Mark is co-author of four books, including Change Your Career (The Council of Adult Education). Particular areas of expertise are individual counselling, career-related issues and psychological and educational assessment. He is a member of the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists and also a member of the APS College of Organisational Psychologists. Mark has been a director of Lewis & Lewis for over 15 years. Other areas of Mark’s interest can be found at his private website.
Bronwyn Lewis MAPS
Bronwyn was a Senior Psychologist working in education before commencing her own business. Bronwyn works in public and private organisations, with both individuals and groups. Bronwyn is a member of the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists; a member of the Australasian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and a member of the Australian Association of Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy. Bronwyn is a trained teacher and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Women’s Heath. Bronwyn has worked Bronwyn has worked with Lewis & Lewis since its inception.
Alison Jones
Alison is a psychologist and is currently Manager, Assessment Services. Alison held the position of Senior Disability and Wellbeing Officer at Northern Metropolitan Region for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), where she was responsible for the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD) in that region. Prior to this Alison worked as a psychologist on the Northern Region Assessment Team conducting psychological assessments for the Disability Program. Alison has a background in education and working in schools with a focus on inclusive curriculum. Alison joined Lewis & Lewis in 2007.
Geoff Riley
Geoff has recently joined Lewis & Lewis as the Programs Manager after many years working in the government education sector. Geoff’s previous roles have included working as a secondary school teacher, student welfare coordinator, senior guidance officer/school psychologist and as the senior disability coordinator in the Western Metropolitan Region. For the past 6 years Geoff has been the Statewide Manager of the Program for Students with Disabilities in the central office of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Geoff has particular interests across the disability area including inclusive education, disability policy and operations.
Rebecca Carmichael
Rebecca is a registered Psychologist with experience as both an Educational and Developmental Psychologist. Before joining the team at Lewis & Lewis, Rebecca was employed as a Psychologist with the Department of Education and DHS (Specialist Children’s Services). Rebecca has a keen interest in literacy development and learning difficulties.
Dr Nicole Carvill MAPS
Nicole is a registered psychologist who has recently completed her PhD. Nicole started her career in the early 1990s with the Behaviour Intervention Support Team, Disability Services. She has also worked within the multidisciplinary Autism Assessment Team at Gateways Support Services providing diagnosis and behaviour management support to preschool aged children and their families. Nicole has been a contractor with Lewis & Lewis since 1999. Nicole has also worked as a consultant providing assessment, counselling and behaviour management support to students and their families within a number of independent schools within the Barwon Region.
Amanda Parkinson
Amanda is a registered Psychologist who worked as a contractor with Lewis & Lewis in 2008 and joined the staff in 2009. Amanda started her career as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and as a Play Therapist with Wesley Mission Melbourne, working with children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. Amanda also spent time working at the Krongold Centre at Monash University performing Psychoeducational Assessments. Prior to joining Lewis & Lewis as a staff member, Amanda spent six years working as a Psychologist with the DEECD.
Kate Thomas Assoc. MAPS
Kate is a registered Psychologist with a background in disability, attachment and trauma and school welfare. Kate was employed as a Psychologist with DHS (Disability Services Behaviour Intervention), DEECD and Berry Street Victoria throughout the Grampians, Loddon Mallee and Barwon South Regions, before moving into schools and private practice. Kate joined Lewis & Lewis in 2009 and works primarily within the Grampians Region.
Tanya King
Tanya commenced her career in psychology working for the DEECD, then moved to DHS (Specialist Children’s Services). Tanya worked first in the Hume Region, where she was the sole psychologist covering the region, and then in the Eastern Metropolitan Region. In the latter region, Tanya was fortunate to be able to work on the Autism Assessment Team. Tanya joined Lewis & Lewis in mid-2006 and has a particular interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders, preschool & primary-aged children and young children with challenging behaviour.
Amber Fernie
Amber is a registered Psychologist with experience working with children with special needs in early intervention and school settings. While studying, Amber developed a particular interest in Autism and worked as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist. Amber then went on to work for Yooralla and Specialist Children’s Services before spending two years working with young children with disabilities and their families in London. Amber joined Lewis & Lewis in 2008, working in a locum position before joining the staff in 2009.
Lisa Palmisano
Lisa is a registered Psychologist who joined Lewis & Lewis in 2007. Lisa commenced her career as a Psychologist working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, implementing specialist programs personalised to suit children’s needs. For several years Lisa was also a counsellor at Lifeline and Wesley Mission Melbourne. Prior to joining the team at Lewis & Lewis, Lisa worked as a Senior Child Protection Practitioner at DHS, case managing and assessing ongoing risk to children and young people. Currently Lisa is enjoying performing assessments for disability programs and locum positions in schools.
Vicky Tsiakalakis
Vicky is a registered Psychologist who has completed her Masters in Educational Psychology. She joined the team at Lewis & Lewis in 2008 after working for DHS specialising in behaviour intervention. She currently works across government schools within Victoria, providing locum psychology services and completing assessments within the PSD for the DEECD.
Alvin Noveloso
Alvin is a registered Psychologist who has completed his Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology. Before joining the Lewis & Lewis team in 2010, Alvin completed his clinical placements at the Monash Krongold Centre, Specialist Children’s Services (Dandenong team) and Developmental Disabilities Clinic. Alvin also has a strong research interest in the area of Autism and the educational transition of newly arrived migrants and refugees. Alvin would like to eventually further his education in the field of Autism interventions.
Renee Styles MAPS
Renee is a registered psychologist who has completed her masters in Psychology, with an emphasis on children and lifespan development. Prior to joining Lewis & Lewis in March 2011, Renee conducted educational assessments in primary and secondary schools. Renee also has experience in counselling children, adolescents and adults, with a particular interest in adolescent anxiety and depression.
Admira Sikiric MAPS
Admira is a registered psychologist who has completed her Master of Psychology (Counselling). She has a keen interest in child and adolescent therapy, assessment, and strategies to improve learning. Admira also has a background in neuroscience and experience working with students.
Adina Kotler
Adina is a registered psychologist who has completed a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology. She has worked as a contractor with Lewis & Lewis since 2007, and joined the staff in 2011. Adina previously worked for the DEECD in the Western Metro Region as a SSSO for several years. Areas of interest include learning difficulties and strategies, giftedness, and counselling around anxiety and depression in children.
Michelle Short MAPS
Michelle is a registered Psychologist who has completed a Masters in Applied Psychology. Before joining the Lewis & Lewis team, Michelle has been working in Private Practice providing psychological services to students in both Primary and Secondary Schools in the Berwick and Pakenham areas. Michelle has also had previous experience working for Monashlink Community Health Service as a youth focussed Drug and Alcohol Counsellor and as a Psychologist working in their Disordered Eating Counselling Service. Having also trained in the Sleep Clinics at The Austin Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, Michelle has a particular interest in assisting young people with sleep related disorders and providing counselling focused on the management of anxiety and depression.
