WORKING WITH GIFTED CHILDREN:
Issues in assessment, adaptive behaviour and family dynamics
Course Outline:
Interpreting both the score profiles and behavioural characteristics of gifted students can present difficulties for psychologists, especially where expectations of teachers and parents are contradictory. Using both the WISC-IV and Stanford Binet 5 this session will examine these issues and how they relate to wider developmental and behavioural concerns. Interventions that are both school and family based will be addressed. Participants who have case studies will be most welcome to present these as part of the discussion.
