Student Welfare
NATIONAL SCHOOL CHAPLAINCY AND STUDENT WELFARE PROGRAM:
Lewis & Lewis has been accepted as a potential funding recipient for the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program. We may be able to assist you in the placement of a student welfare officer in your school (if you require a chaplain, other organisations may be able to assist).
Chaplaincy/student welfare is a service that complements the care offered by other helping disciplines.
Schools can now apply for a maximum of $60,000 over three years to establish or expand chaplaincy or student welfare services in their school community.
Funding Recipients are the employing bodies of school chaplains/student welfare workers in government schools and amongst other things, are responsible for the financial management, recruitment and selection, induction, supervision and monitoring of these workers.
Social Workers, registered teachers with student welfare experience and psychologists (including those provisionally registered) may also be interested in filling these positions.
School communities will be able to choose to employ either a chaplain or a secular student welfare worker from 1 January 2012.
The final day for schools to lodge Applications is Friday 2 March 2012, 8.00 pm AEST. For more information go to: http://www.deewr.gov.au/Schooling/NSCSWP/Pages/NSCSWP.aspx
